Battle of the Bands 2009 Rules and Submissions Page

Ok guys, here's the deal...

I thought this would be a fun event for The Metal Militia. This is the
Battle of the Bands 2009... voted on and decided by you! Here are the
rules:

1. There will be 64 bands/songs chosen to compete in a tournament to
see who the heaviest of the heavy are. The bracket will be set-up similar to the March Madness tournament in NCAA Basketball.

2. Each band/artist can have 1 entry only (meaning one chosen song... their 'best); if there are disputes, we will put it to a vote.

3. Match-ups will be randomly chosen according to a drawing, where I will put all of the submissions in a hat and draw names, match them up, and wait for the chaos to begin.

4. Each 'Round' will last for 1 week where our members have the opportunity to vote on the matches. There are no minimum or maximum amount of votes needed for each... the only rule is that each member only receives 1 vote per match.

5. Individual threads will be provided in this section to keep track of the progress.

So this is the place to leave feedback, suggestions, and submissions for the tournament. Round 1 will begin next Monday (6/22), so the brackets will be completed by Sunday 6/21. Let me know if you have any further questions, but once this thing starts shaping up... it is pretty self-explanatory. Let the mayhem begin! \m/

Remember, if somebody else has what they think is a better choice for a submission for one of these bands... reply and well put it to a quick vote while we are still putting together brackets. Keep it brutal! \m/

I am pleased to announce that the tournament bracket has been ordered and all first-round match-ups have been set! Thank you to everyone who participated in the submissions! Remember, voting begins on Monday and I will have the official bracket and individual match-ups posted by this upcoming Sunday. One more time, here is how it is going to work:

Each match-up will be individually covered in a thread under this section. Each thread will include a poll that will determine the winner of the first round matches (as well as all subsequent matches). I am hoping that our members will be active and this tournament will not only be fun, but generate some solid discussion. Each round will last one-week and each member will be given one vote per match. But, you are welcome to discuss the matches as much as you would like. There are no minimum number of votes needed to win, nor are there a maximum number. Being said, make sure to get in there and help push your bands over the top. Get ready... this is going to be a wild ride! \m/
